Friday, June 1, 2012 Husband and wife, Edward Arron and Jeewon Park have each garnered impressive accolades as superb solo performers. This performance at All Saints’ will be their collaboration as a musical duo. Ms. Park has performed at Carnegie and Alice Tully Halls, and with major orchestras throughout the U.S. and inter-nationally. The New York Times hailed her performance as “unbridled, infectious exuberance.” Mr. Arron, who is artistic director for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s,“Artist in Concert” series, has performed with Yo-Yo Ma in Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Cellos, in solo recitals at Carnegie, Avery Fisher and Alice Tully Halls, and throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia. “... superb cellist” New York Times
Carmel’s own Dr.Todd Samra, new Director of Music at All Saints’ Church, will present a delightful evening of song with arias from the cantatas of J.S. Bach and works by Fauré, Delius, Vaughan Williams, and Gershwin. Previously a professor of music at St. Joseph’s College, he is active as a performer, teacher, clinician, lecturer, and conductor specializing in music from the Baroque and jazz idioms. Dr. Samra is a featured lecturer at the Carmel Bach Festival. As a performer, he is known for his lyrical qualities and rich interpretations.
